Pats Peak Capital Improvements
for the 2009/2010 Season
Henniker, NH, July 13,
2009– Pats
Peak, New Hampshire’s premier family snowsports destination,
enters into its 47th consecutive ski and snowboard season under
the same local family ownership. Pats Peak continually focuses
to improve its facility and experience for their skiers, snowboarders
and snowtubers.
Pats Peak is investing another $500,000 for the 2009-2010 season
creating an incredible capital expenditure of $5,000,000 over
the last 5 seasons. The 09-10 season brings with it a major
improvement to Kids’ Learning Facilities, brand new lift-serviced
terrain park that sets the standard for other areas; increased
snowmaking capabilities; major expansion to the Alpine Training
Center; new rental equipment; additional parking spaces; new
gladed areas and enhancement of the overall guest experience.
Through this effort Pats Peak has clearly emerged as the number
one destination for skiers and riders in southern NH.
Kris Blomback, General Manager, commented, “Every year we identify
which aspects of our operation we can improve to give our guests
an even better experience at Pats. This season we focused on
upgrading our kids’ program and alpine training center locations.
Every season we strive to upgrade our snowmaking system with
additional snow guns and snowmaking pipe to be sure to give
our skiers the best snow surface possible. Many of our guests
utilize our rental equipment therefore every year we are sure
to upgrade our ski and snowboard rental equipment.”
Major Improvement to Kids’ Learning Facilities
The “Bears Den” for the kids’ program is being upgraded. The
floor space will double in size giving children more room for
their belongings and for socializing with their friends before
heading out onto the slopes. New bathrooms have also been installed
in the facility. A new separate “kids kitchen” with all new
amenities is being added to the room, which will make serving
lunch easier.
New Lift-Serviced Terrain Park That Sets The Standard
For Other Areas
A new Terrain Park for high-end riders and freestyle skiers
called "F5" will make its debut this season. This
terrain park will have its own surface lift for maximum laps
in the park. The addition of this terrain park gives Pats Peak
a total of three terrain parks with jumps and rails of all sizes
for all level of skiers and snowboarders.
Increased Snowmaking Capabilities
Snowmaking efforts gain additional enhancements this year with
the addition of more fan guns, more HKD snowguns and more snowmaking
pipe to add to the already extraordinary 100% state-of-the-art
snowmaking coverage. Comments Blomback, “Our ability to open
terrain quickly is our number one priority. We strive to be
the first ski area in NH to be 100% open. Every year we add
more snowguns and snowmaking pipe to our energy-efficient snowmaking
system. Making snow in our gladed areas continues to set us
apart from the competition.”
Major Expansion To The Alpine Training Center
The Alpine Training Center for racers is getting a major expansion
and makeover both inside and out. This expansion doubles the
size of the existing competition center, giving racers even
more room for equipment. This expansion to the Alpine Training
Center once again proves Pats' determination to be number one
in Alpine Racing.
New Rental Equipment – Northern New England’s Largest
Rental Shop
Again this season the Rental
Shop continues to enhance its already impressive rental
fleet with 400 new pairs of skis & bindings, 400 pairs of
boots and 100 snowboards. Guests receive their gear fast in
the state-of-the-art 9,600 square foot Rental Shop, complete
with a carpet lift that whisks guests and their equipment up
to the slopes.
Regrading Of The Base Area Provides Additional Parking
Spaces
The Mountain Operations team continues their efforts in the
base area parking lots regrading the parking lots to create
a smooth ride and 50 additional parking spaces.
New “Secret Gladed Areas”
This year some dedicated glade skiers cleared some fantastic
“secret lines” that require you to hike. These areas are in
addition to the already seven gladed areas on the mountain,
giving even more options to enjoy a variety of terrain.
Enhancing Overall Guest Experience
And as always Pats is upgrading many "behind the scene”
operations to make the guest experience even better and smoother.
