Snowmaking

Snowmaking equipment is incredibly expensive to build and operate. Pats Peak has more than $2,000,000 just in equipment costs for its snowmaking system. Additionally it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to operate. Everything depends upon your snow system.

A properly designed snowmaking system will run about 10-20% of a ski center's total operating expenses. At Pats Peak our snowmaking system costs about $500+ an hour to just to operate.
