Winter Stoked 20-21

9/9/2020

We are getting ready for the 20-21 winter season - things will look a little different around here - but we are excited to welcome skiers/riders back to the mountain.

With the passage of Labor Day, we begin the unofficial countdown to ski season. We’ve been, pardon the pun, holding our powder in communicating how the new season will shake out. But, we know, it is definitely on everyone’s mind.

Rest assured we are good students up here at the Peak. We have been studying just about every aspect of our operation. We have been watching others this past summer and learning everything we can so we can refine our own operations and make everything as safe as possible for our guests and our Pats Peak team. Safety is the overarching theme for the upcoming season. Everyone staying healthy is our number one priority!

We’ve had to reimagine of the workings of many aspects and how we perform day-to-day operations to ensure that are all as safe as possible. There are things that will be different and we acknowledge that they won’t all be universally embraced. This is new territory for us all, and we ask for your understanding and patience.

In the interim, as we work to refine programming, we’re putting the finishing touches on a number of things to make your experience better and safer.

Here are some specifics:

  • A lot more outside seating complete with tons of deck heating and wind blocks to make the experience more enjoyable.

  • We’ve created a take-out window for cafeteria food.“Guy’s to Go-Go” will feature awesome homemade food that you can take to one of our 30 plus new tables that we have added to our outdoor seating.

  • We’re adding additional bathroom facilities at the base of the lifts for those that want to avoid visiting the lodge.

  • We have reimagined the layout of the lodge and removed close to 50% of the furniture to allow for more space in the lodge.

  • We’re putting the finishing touches on technology that will allow you to order your food from your smartphone.

  • Our new app will be ready later in the fall where you can purchase tickets, order food, and receive the latest and greatest info from the Peak.  This will be our “go to” communication format.

  • We are also adding ticketing kiosks for touch free redemption.

We are ever thankful for all of those that have purchased season passes and want to assure you that you will have priority access to all of our services.  As the fall unfolds, we will be unveiling new programming and price point options to satisfy your snow hunger. Be comfortable in the knowledge that the majority of our programming is intact for you to enjoy this winter.

After School Programs:  We realize that many of you have questions about our after school programs for the upcoming season.   At this point, we invite you to reach out directly to our Snowsports School representatives for specific answers to your questions.  Overall, it’s safe to say that we have plenty of options for all to consider…from the normal programming you’ve come to expect, to tailored programming for individuals, schools field trip possibilities, and even home-schooling programming.  Our representatives are excited to work with you to help find what fits best for you.

We’ll close with the caveat that this is an ever-changing landscape and we are staying nimble to bring our guests the greatest experience possible.  The best thing we can all do is “mask up”, keep our distance, and wash our hands.  These three things will have a big impact on a positive outlook for our ski season.  Naturally, guidance from a number of sources (CDC, NH Department of Health & Human Services, National Ski Areas Association, Ski NH and host of others) will also help guide our operations so we can ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience for everyone.

Be kind.  Be patient. And above all, Be Safe.
