SUMMARY:Vertical Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Vertical Challenge is a series of free casual ski and snowboard races held at various ski resorts throughout the northeast.  \n\n\n\nSkiers and snowboarders are divided by gender and age to compete for gold\, silver\, and bronze medals in each category. All medal winners receive free lift tickets for the Finals for the chance to compete for the Gold. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the races\, attendees enjoy a festival atmosphere\, featuring fun snowy activities for all ages and special giveaways. \n\n\n\nThe race is free of charge and racers MUST purchase an All Mountain Lift Ticket ONLINE IN ADVANCE for Sunday\, February 8\, 2026 at patspeak.com or be a Pats Peak Season Pass Holder in order to do the Vertical Challenge.  \n\n\n\nPARTICIPANTS CAN REGISTER ON-LINE UNTIL 5:00PM NIGHT BEFORE EVENT (Link to pre-register can be found here) OR ON-SITE THAT MORNING. He survived a recurrent brain tumor\, and attained academic and career goals considered unlikely. His effort\, his drive to do well and willingness to work hard\, coupled with the support of people who believed in him\, contributed to his success. His pursuit for his own education and his love for teaching others has had a profound effect on others around him. Chandler’s friends and family hope this scholarship will provide others who share his passion for snowsports the opportunity and support\, so that with their effort\, they too may advance their education and certification as a snowsports instructor.
