PATS PEAK HOSTS ANNUAL POND SKIM CONTEST ON

Henniker, NH, March 5, 2026 – Pats Peak, New Hampshire’s favorite snowsports destination, will celebrate spring with its annual Pond Skim Contest on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Sponsored by Sparkling Ice, this crowd-pleasing tradition invites skiers and snowboarders to test their skills (and bravery!) as they attempt to skim across a specially constructed pond. Some will glide triumphantly to the other side, while others may find themselves taking a refreshing dip in the icy water.

The contest brings plenty of laughs and cheers from the sidelines, with awards presented for Best Costume, Best Splash, and Best Skim. From outrageous outfits to impressive runs across the water, creativity and showmanship are all part of the fun.

Event Details:

• Registration: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM outside the Valley Lodge
• Contest Start Time: 1:00 PM
• Entry Fee: FREE – Participants must have a valid Valley Area Lift Ticket—purchased in advance at patspeak.com—or a Pats Peak Season Pass, and must wear a costume
• Limited to the first 100 participants

The Pond Skim Contest is a favorite among both participants and spectators and serves as a festive way to celebrate spring skiing at Pats Peak.
